Solo Leveling Episode 24 is shaping up to be one of the most thrilling episodes of the season. Sung Jinwoo’s Decision to Stay Behind
Despite the Jeju Island Raid being a pivotal event, Sung Jinwoo made the tough decision to stay behind. His mother had just awakened from the Eternal Sleep, and he prioritized her well-being over joining the battle. However, he didn’t abandon his responsibilities completely. He sent his Shadows to assist the Korean Hunters, ensuring that they had reinforcements if needed.
In Episode 24, Sung Jinwoo will finally face the ant monsters for the first time. However, his primary focus will be aiding the Korean Hunters after the Black Ant launches a devastating attack. The previous episode showcased the sheer brutality of the Black Ant, who effortlessly decapitated several S-rank Japanese Hunters, including the self-proclaimed “King of Humans,” Goto Ryuji. Unfortunately for Goto, his arrogance led to his downfall at the hands of the monstrous Black Ant.
Sung Jinwoo’s Timely Intervention
The Korean Hunters managed to keep their casualties minimal, but the Black Ant remains a dire threat. Thankfully, Sung Jinwoo possesses healing potions, which he can share with the wounded Hunters to prevent further losses. The preview images indicate that Baek Yonhoo, Choi Jong-in, Ma Dong-wook, and Lim Tae-Gyu appear unharmed, suggesting that Sung Jinwoo successfully administered the potions.
The Black Ant: A Formidable Opponent
Unlike regular ants, the Black Ant possesses overwhelming power and intelligence. It can analyze its opponents' strengths and weaknesses, making it an even deadlier foe. This was evident when it targeted Min Byung-gyu, the healer responsible for keeping the Korean Hunters in the fight. Recognizing his importance, the Black Ant swiftly eliminated him.
Another instance of the Black Ant’s intelligence was its decision to confront Goto Ryuji instead of continuing to battle the Korean Hunters. Sensing that Goto was a powerful adversary, it shifted its focus, leading to a brief but intense battle.
The Black Ant even displays the ability to communicate, questioning Goto with, “Are you… their king?” This suggests that the creature may engage in dialogue with Sung Jinwoo, possibly shedding light on the ants’ relentless attacks on humanity.
Humanity’s Survival Depends on Sung Jinwoo
Sung Jinwoo’s abilities make him one of the fastest and most powerful Hunters. However, the Black Ant’s raw physical strength surpasses his, making this a challenging fight. One wrong move could mean his defeat, but he has an ace up his sleeve—his powerful Shadow Army.
With elite Shadows at his disposal, Sung Jinwoo can overwhelm the Black Ant. As long as he has enough Mana, his Shadows cannot be permanently destroyed. It is also likely that the remaining S-rank Hunters will provide backup by eliminating the regular ants, preventing them from interfering in the battle.
The upcoming episode will determine whether the fight concludes in Episode 24 or extends into the next. Many fans hope that Sung Jinwoo will finish the battle swiftly so that the season finale can lay the groundwork for future story arcs.
